Interestingly, W wasn't elected the first time he ran for governor because people thought he was too removed from the public. He was too intellectual, they thought he would never be able to understand what they are going through.
So he comes back 10 years later, but now he's a "good ol' boy from Texas," and he wins.
And he played that card, and was elected...twice.
Kinda says something about the general public.
